This program is the result of a collaboration with the Alliance Française in Lyon; it’s designed to offer you a new kind of immersive experience in France and to make it as immersive and unique as possible: in the morning, you learn French in class; in the afternoon, you put it into practice.

From August 30 to September 12, 2026, the Alliance Française in Paris and the Alliance Française in Lyon are launching L’Échappée Paris–Lyon, a unique language immersion program connecting these two iconic cities.

For two weeks, you’ll enjoy a program combining French classes, cultural activities, tours, and experiences of daily life. This is a full immersion program designed for adults at levels A2 through C1, allowing you to improve your French while discovering France’s cultural, historical, and culinary diversity.

Two cities, two atmospheres, one language

Your trip begins in Paris, at the heart of the capital’s vibrant cultural scene. You’ll explore its iconic neighborhoods, museums, historic sites, and lively spots.

A few days later, the TGV takes you to Lyon. There, you’ll find yourself immersed in a city on a human scale, renowned for its history, cuisine, and lifestyle.

From Montmartre to Old Lyon, from the gardens of the Palace of Versailles to Les Halles Paul Bocuse, every stop along the way becomes a new opportunity to practice French.

Order a Parisian bouillon, chat with an artisan, take part in a wine-and-cheese workshop, or discover Lyon’s specialties: French will be with you every step of the way during your stay, in real-life, authentic situations.

Just as much time for learning as for discovering

Each day is based on a balance between learning and immersion:

• In the morning, you'll take French classes tailored to your level;
• In the afternoon, you'll take part in tours, workshops, and cultural experiences.

The knowledge you gain in class immediately comes to life during these activities. You’ll expand your vocabulary, improve your comprehension, and learn to express yourself more spontaneously.

This daily practice helps you gradually improve your fluency, confidence, and independence when speaking.

Two Alliances Françaises United by a Shared Journey

L’Échappée Paris–Lyon is organized jointly by the Alliance Française in Paris and the Alliance Française in Lyon.

The teaching staff at both institutions are pooling their expertise to offer a cohesive curriculum and ensure continuity in learning between Paris and Lyon.

This collaboration allows you to discover two ways of experiencing France while pursuing the same goal: practicing French from morning to night, through your interactions with French places, people, and culture.

An immersive experience designed to help you make the most of your stay

From the moment you arrive in Paris until the end of the program in Lyon, the teams at both Alliances Françaises will support you every step of the way.

Classes, cultural outreach activities, field trips, and the Navigo pass are included in the price of the trip. Participants are responsible for their own transportation between Paris and Lyon.

This way, you can focus on what matters most: learning, meeting people, exploring, and experiencing France in French.
