As part of its “Tout un monde en français” series, the Alliance Française in Paris is hosting a unique literary event featuring Yara El-Ghadban and Rodney Saint-Eloi, authors of *Les fascistes n’ont jamais compté les étoiles* (Éditions Mémoire d'Encrier, 2026).

Following *Racists Have Never Seen the Sea*, Rodney Saint-Éloi and Yara El Ghadban resume their correspondence and invite us to reflect on the role of love, friendship, and solidarity in the face of violence in the world.

Let’s revisit the history of fascism. Drawing on their personal experiences, Yara El-Ghadban and Rodney Saint-Éloi reflect on times past. From a Palestine ravaged by genocide to a bankrupt Haiti, they recount the tyranny of the powerful, racism, exploitation, the era of techno-finance and billionaires, the climate crisis, and the geography of wars and disasters. But that’s not all. They invite us to return to the myths that shaped the world, so that together we can reimagine friendship, solidarity, and creativity, and restore a place for hospitality. *The Fascists Never Counted the Stars* evokes both upheaval and hope and love.
