DAEFLE - Special conditions of sale - Access test
The DAEFLE is a complete course of study, the registration of which requires the successful completion of the access test organised by the Alliance Française Paris Île-de-France (hereafter referred to as AF Paris).
The purpose of this document is to remind the rights and obligations of AF Paris, its approved centres and the candidates with regard to the organisation of the tests in accordance with the laws and regulations in force. This document is applicable to candidates in France as well as abroad.
AF Paris sets an annual calendar of dates for the DAEFLE entrance test. It is then made available to users on the AF Paris website. Registrations are made within a given period. No registration received after the deadline will be taken into account.
To register for the admission test, you must have completed secondary school or higher. If the diploma was not issued in French, a translation by a professional translator will be required. No request for exemption from the admission test will be considered.
Conditions for taking the test
The conditions for taking the test are provided by AF Paris
The DAEFLE entrance test is taken online only.
Candidates receive electronic access codes for a platform hosting the online access test.
The online access test requires the use of a computer (desktop or laptop). The platform does not allow the test to be carried out on a tablet or telephone in an optimal manner. The use of individual headphones or speakers is recommended.
Successful completion of the access test
Successful completion of the entrance test is conditional on obtaining results at least equivalent to level C1 of the CEFR. In the event of failure, the candidate may re-enrol.
Sending the results
AF Paris sends electronically the results notifications to the candidates at the date posted on the AF Paris website (alliancefr.org). The calendars are published on the AF Paris website, on the page dedicated to the DAEFLE.
Consultation of results
Candidates do not have access to the details of their results. They will only receive a notification of their pass or fail result for this access test. Whatever the result, it is not contestable and detailed scores are not provided. No returns can be offered for the Access Test.
Postponements and refunds
Only proof of professional or medical reasons (translated into French), or of a transport incident (strike, delay, etc. on the day of the tests) clearly indicating the name of the candidate, will give rise to a single, non-renewable postponement to the next session. Requests must be sent to the DAEFLE secretariat (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than five working days after the date of issue of the document. Under no circumstances will AF Paris be able to respond to a request for reimbursement.
Cancellations - withdrawals
The candidate has the right to withdraw from the registration process within 14 working days, without having to give a reason. This withdrawal period starts from the date of acceptance by the candidate of the Special Conditions of Registration. The trainee wishing to make use of his/her right of withdrawal must notify the test centre in writing by electronic or postal means within the legal time limits indicated above (as evidenced by the postmark). After this period of 14 days, no cancellation or withdrawal can be taken into account. All registrations will be considered final.
