The fourth season of literary encounters "Je viens de loin, j'écris en français" is coming to an end with ATIQ RAHIMI as our guest. This event will be hosted by Bernard Magnier, journalist, publisher and renowned expert on francophone literatures.

Born in 1962 in Kaboul, Atiq Rahimi left his country at 22 years old, as it was being invaded by the Soviets. He first took refuge in Pakistan before coming to France.

Novelist and movie director, he published his first book, Terre et cendres, in 2000 and adapted it for the cinema in 2004. The same year, the movie was presented to the Cannes Festival and won the Regard vers l'avenir prize. In 2008, he published his first novel written in French, Syngué sabour, pierre de patience, awarded by the Goncourt Prize. His last novel, Les porteurs d'eau, was published in 2019.

A book signing will be held at the end of the meeting.

This event is organized by Alliance Française de Paris with the support of Institut Français and Fondation des Alliances françaises.
