General terms

General Terms and Conditions of registration

1 – CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION
Students must be at least 18 years old (or over 16 years old with parental consent). To take advantage of the accommodation options, the student must be at least 18 years old. The details, prices and conditions of cancellation for accommodation options are available on demand or on the website: http://www.alliancefr.org/en/individual-students/daily-life-school/accomodation-service
The Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France cannot be held responsible for any difficulties in obtaining a long-stay visa or a residence permit upon the presentation of a pre-registration or registration certificate in one of the courses.

 

2 – FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

Courses at the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France require the payment of the following fees:
1. Annual registration fee: This fee allows students to be registered at the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France and therefore to attend any course in which they have been registered and have paid in full the corresponding tuition. It is valid for all our courses from the first day of classes and for a period of one year (date to date). This fee is non-refundable.
2. The tuition fees as presented in the brochures, leaflets, Internet site. These must be paid in totality at latest 3 weeks before the beginning of the course.

There can be no discount or refund made in tuition fees over national public holidays.

 

Please note : in order to comply with the requirements of the Prefecture of Paris for the issue of a residence permit, those students possessing a long stay visa to study in France, must at the time of definitive
registration pay in full the tuition fees for the first 12 weeks of intensive French course (20 hrs/week).

 

3 – REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

Whatever the chosen way of registration, non-beginners students have to take the online evaluation test no later than two weeks before classes begin in order to guarantee place in the chosen course and schedule.
Every non-beginner student must take a placement test before beginning their courses.

 

 

For individual students/clients:

The client can register:

1. Create a personal account and choose courses;
2. Read the General Conditions and their annexes, and accept them as per the procedure online;
3. Pay either the deposit or the full tuition on line. The complete tuition must be paid no later than three weeks before the beginning of the classes;
In case of late payment, the place in the class is no longer guaranteed and there will be no refund of the deposit.
4. The client must come at the reception desk at Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France the first day of classes and provide the following documents: Identification (identity card, permit of stay or passport with a current visa covering the duration of the studies); One ID photo; A parental authorization for candidates ages 16 or 17; the receipt for payment of the full tuition or the registration certificate.

  • By post:

1. Read the general conditions of registration and their annexes attachments , accept by dating and signing the registration form;
2. Pay either the deposit or the full tuition as well as the accommodation fees, if applicable.
The complete tuition must be paid no later than three weeks before the beginning of the classes, and the accommodation fees within six weeks prior arrival;
Payments can be made: by cheque (in Euros); by money transfer; by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and JCB)
3. Send all of the above: by fax (excluding the cheque): +33 1 42 84 91 00; by email (excluding the cheque): inscription@alliancefr.org; by mail: Alliance Française Paris, Service des inscriptions, 101boulevard Raspail - 75270 Paris Cedex 06, France;
4. The client must come at the reception desk at Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France the first day of classes and provide the following documents: Identification (identity card, permit of stay or passport with a current visa covering the duration of the studies); One ID photo; A parental authorization for candidates ages 16 or 17; the receipt of payment of the deposit or the registration certificate, or the receipt of the payment of full tuition or the registration certificate.

 

Registration that has been completed by post or online can be cancelled within a 7-day limit from the date of acceptance of the general conditions of registration. If the 7-day term ends on a Saturday, Sunday or a public or school holiday, the term may be extended to the next business day. Any student wanting to take advantage of their right of retraction, must notify, within the legal delay as indicated herewith, in writing and by surface mail, to the following address: Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France, Service des inscriptions, 101 boulevard Raspail, 75270 Paris Cedex 06, France.

 

  • On site :

1. Read the general conditions of registration and their attachments, accept by dating and signing the registration form;
2. Pay the full tuition as well as the accommodation fees, if applicable; Payments can be made:  by cheque (in Euros);  by bank card (visa, MasterCard, JCB);  by cash.
3. All the above-mentioned items must be given to the registration services.

 

For third-person payments (businesses, organizations, Alliances françaises and all other legal entities)

 

Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France does not charge 'OPCA'.

The client can register: by correspondence (fax or mail) or on site.
For the registration to be valid, the client must carry out the following formalities chronologically:

 

  • By correspondence :

1. Read the General Conditions of Registration and their attachments; return the signed and dated registration form:
By fax: +33 1 42 84 91 00 / by email: inscription@alliancefr.org / by mail: Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France, Service des inscriptions, 101 boulevard Raspail, 75270 Paris Cedex 06, France.
Upon signing the registration form and the accepting the general conditions, the third person accepts responsibility for paying all tuition fees.
2. Upon receipt of the bill, pay the complete tuition and, if applicable, the accommodation fees: by cheque (in Euros); by money transfer;  by credit card
3. The client and/or the student receives a notification from Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France confirming the registration.
4. The client must appear at the reception desk at Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France the first day of classes and provide the following documents: Identification (identity card, permit of stay or passport with a current visa covering the duration of the studies); one ID photo; a parental authorization for candidates ages 16 to 18; a registration certificate.

2. The student must appear at the reception desk at Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France the first day of classes and provide the following documents: the registration form and/or tuition quote duly signed and approved by the client; Identification (identity card, permit of stay or passport with a current visa covering the duration of the studies); One ID photo; A parental authorization for candidates ages 16 or 17.

4 – DEFERRAL AND CANCELLATION POLICY


  • Before the beginning of the course:

Students have the right to postpone their course within a period of 6 months. Only one postponement can be made and a written request must be received by the school at least 15 business days before the starting date of chosen courses. In the case of cancellation or the absence of final registration, the registration fees – 125€ - are non-refundable. In the case of late cancellation (3 working days before the beginning of classes) the non-refundable fees are increased to 250€.

 

  • After the beginning of the course:

Once the courses have begun, and in the case of one or more absences in various courses, no deferral or reimbursement can be made for any reason whatsoever.
However, in the case of serious illness and/or incapacity justified by a medical certificate, preventing participation in a course for over 4 consecutive weeks, the student can ask to be refunded for the missed tuition (except the annual registration fee which remains the property of Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France) or to postpone the course within a limit of 6 months after the date of interruption of the course.

  • Reimbursement of a class :

If the case of a refund of class, only the students who were present and who signed the attendance sheet at the courses office will be refunded in proportion to the number of hours.

  • Specific conditions for the private courses:

Postponing a classes can be authorized if the dates of the classes postponed occur between the beginning and ending dates of the contract and that the postponing request is made no later than 24 hours (weekend excluded) before the scheduled time of the class, neither deferral nor reimbursement will be able to be made.
Postponing of the date of the training ending will be not accepted.
Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France has the right to cancel a registration in a private course in the case of unavailability of a professor up two 2 weeks after the registration. In this case the full corresponding tuition fees will be refund to the client. If this cancellation affects all of the classes chosen by the client, the Annual Registration Fee will be refund as well.

 

5 – DELAY - CHANGE OF PROGRAM - MODIFICATIONS

In the case of late arrival, a place cannot be guaranteed to the student. A Postponing for another session of the same course may be offered, within the limit of availability. If a change is exceptionally accepted, the credit will not be refund.
Any timetable and schedule changes cannot be accepted once the course program initially chosen has started.
The Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France has the right:
- to cancel a course if not enough students registered. If another course of an equivalent level cannot be offered, the sum of the corresponding tuition fees will be refund to the student. If this cancellation affects
all of the courses chosen by the student, the Annual Registration Fee will also be refunded.
- to change if necessary, the schedule and calendar of courses, after informing the student and the client.

 

6 – INSURANCE - Health, accident and personal liability insurance are compulsory and the responsibility of the student.
 

 

7 – ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE - The student is required to attend class regularly.  A certificate of attendance will be delivered upon request.
 

 

8 – EXPULSION - In the case of misbehaviour of a student, as outlined by the internal regulations of the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France, the school reserves the right to expel the offending student. This document can be fund in the welcome desk of the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France.
